Day 1 Depart USA

You board your trans-pacific flight to Hong Kong a special administrative region of China and a mecca for business people and shoppers.

 
Day 2 En Route

You cross the International Date Line and "lose" a day, but gain it back on your return trip.

 
Day 3 Arrival in Hong Kong

As you step off the plane you are met by our representative and assisted through the immigration and customs process. Exiting the customs area you are met by your guide and driver and taken to your hotel, which sits on the waterfront in Kowloon with magnificent views of Victoria and the rest of the harbor. To benefit from this location we have reserved harbor view rooms for your stay. You have a light dinner before catching up on your sleep and getting ready for the events ahead.

Day 4 Hong Kong and Lamma Island

You begin your first full day in Hong Kong with an exploration of Hong  Kong Island. No visitor can claim that their journey is complete until they have paid a visit to The Peak. The stunning views over Victoria Harbour are a highlight for most visitors to the city. Next you go to the south side of the island to the active fishing harbor of Aberdeen. Here you board a sampan to observe the fishing " junks". After lunch at the Boatyard Restaurant you have the option of doing some shopping at Stanley Market or returning to the hotel. This evening superb seafood on Lamma Island where the seafood farms are located.

Day 5 Hong Kong Countryside
While Hong Kong is justly known for its skyline and frenetic business pace, there is also a quieter part. You will drive out to the countryside to visit a local Chinese market, see the border with China and pass through Kowloon on your way back to the hotel. This evening your guide will take you to a scenic spot for a cocktail as the sun sets over the harbor. You will then go to Aberdeen for a Chinese banquet at the famous Jumbo floating restaurantB,L,D
 
Day 6 The Heritage of Hong Kong

Today you will explore Hong Kong's ancient heritage with some of it dating back to the Song Dynasty. You have a chance to see the Punti, indigenuous Hong Kong people, along the Ping Shan Heritage Trail through the villages built by the Tang clan. They are one of the 5 most powerful clans in the New Territories and trace their ancestry to the Southern Song Imperial family. Your visit will include the Ancestral Halls and Stady Halls with feng-shui influenced architecture. You will also visit the elegant Tai Fu Mansion, an example of traditional Chinese scholar-gentry way of life. You then stroll the Tai Po market popular with the local villagers before stopping for some Dim Sum for lunch. After lunch you have some time free for shopping. This evening enjoy spectacular harbor views from your restaurant table in Tsim Tsa Tsui

Day 7 Ferry to Macau
This morning your guide will transfer you to the nearby China Ferry Terminal where you board the high sped jetfoil to the the former Portuguese clony of Macau. The trip takes about an hour and upon arrival, your guide will be waiting to show you this unique blend of old and new. Although billed as the Las Vegas of the East, Macau also has some fascinating culture and culture that mixes Chinese and Portuguese influence. During you visit you will see the famous ruins of the Sao Paolo Cathedral as well as the statues and temples hidden in the old City of Macau. You will also experience the modern Macau with a drive down the Cotai Strip of casinos and the Macau Tower. You will have typical Macanese food, including Beef or Pork Jerky and Almond Cookies at Littoral Restaurant and then you have some time to wander the quaint streets before returning to the harbor to board the hydrofoil back to Hong KongB,L,D
 
Day 8 Lantau Island and the Tai O Village
After breakfast your guide will meet you and take you to Lantau, the largest of the out-lying islands in Hong Kong. Your visit begins in the new town of Tung Chung where you board the newly-opened Ngong Ping 360 cable car which offers breathtaking views as it takes you high above the hills. On the other side is the Big Buddha the largest outdoor Buddha in the world. You can visit up close but you need to climb 268 steps to do so. This area is also home to the Po Lin Monastery, an active Buddhist Monastery nestled among scenic mountains. A traditional vegetarian lunch is offered at a Buddhist Restaurant to enrich your cultural experience. In the afternoon you will visit Tai O Village, a traditional fishing village where time seems to stand still amidst the peaceful surroundings. The return journey will take you to Mui Wo to catch a ferry back to Kowloon. This evening enjoy spectacular harbor views from your restaurant table in Tsim Tsa TsuiB,L,D
