Day 1 Depart USA

You board your aircraft for the overnight flight to Zurich


Day 2 Welcome to Zurich

The variety of scenery in Zurich will catch you unawares. At times, it will strike you as a rowdy, throbbing major city; at others - especially in the Old Town - you will find the narrow alleys peaceful and leisurely.The Zurich Lake gives you a feeling of well-being. On the shores of the Lake, you can sit and admire the Alps or stroll through the parks and watch the yachts on the water. Upon arrival you are met by your guide and escorted to your luxury hotel uniquely situated in its own park on the shore of Lake Zurich, next to the famous Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich's main shopping district. After freshening up you can just step outside your hotel and enjoy some window shopping. In the evening you have your choice of several restaurants although dining on the terrace could be enticing if the weather permits.

Day 3 Zurich Old and New

With your personal guide at your side you set out to explore the many facets of Zurich. You'll see some of the discreet edifices housing the Swiss banks known worldwide, you'll get a closer look at the Bahnhofstrasse and its myriad of chic merchants and you'll get a change of pace as you meander through old town stopping for lunch along the way. After lunch you have some free time before enjoying another fine meal

Day 4 A Journey to Interlaken with a Stop Along the Way

After breakfast you meet your guide who will escort you to the car that will take you to the charming resort of Interlaken, situated, as its name suggests, between two lakes. First however you will stop and visit in Bern the Swiss capital and a charming city in its own right. The Old Town of Bern, which is listed on the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage sites, has one of the longest "weatherproof" shopping malls in Europe under its four miles of covered arcades. The mediaeval atmosphere, with shops in the cellar vaults offers a unique definition of a "mall". Since this is the Capital of Switzerland you will find the Parliament Building from where Switzerland is governed. The imposing building is right at the heart of the Old Town. Bern is built on a peninsular formed by a bend of the River Aar and offers a unique break on your way to Interlaken. Upon arriving at the resort you check into one of the most prestigious hotels in Switzerland.

Day 5 St. Moritz and the Glacier Express

In the morning you are taken to the station where 1st Class seats have been reserved on the Glacier Express. While you enjoy food and wine served at your seat the panoramic windows provide breathtaking scenery through tunnels across meadows and over bridges. In the afternoon you disembark in St. Moritz which is located at 6,000 feet and surrounded by lakes and mountains. Although often thought of as the world class ski resort that it is, the area offers stunning scenery and culture all year round aided by the 322 days of sunshine per year. You arrive at your superb hotel and have time to take in the views and the charm of the town.

Day 6 From the Mountains to the Lakes

After a leisurely breakfast enhanced by the Alpine views, you are met by your guide for the trip from 6,000 feet in St. Moritz to 900 feet in Lugano. You will also go from the German speaking portion of Switzerland to the Italian. You will in fact, pass through Italy which gives us the opportunity to offer you lunch in Lake Como where Donatella Versace and George Clooney each have villas. After lunch you continue on to Lake Lugano and your Lakeside hotel.

Day 7 Leisure in Lugano

The 'capita morale', the secret city is not only the third-largest financial hub in Switzerland, a congress, banking and business centre, but is also a city of parks and flowers, of villas and religious buildings. Its Mediterranean flair, full of southern joie de vivre, means that Lugano combines all the advantages of a world city with the character of a small town. We have left this day open for you to explore the town or the grounds of your hotel. Take a boat on the lake or just relax.

Day 8 Lake Maggiore and Zermatt

After breakfast you have most of the morning to relax before meeting your guide for the trip to the quaint town of Zermatt located at the foot of the Matterhorn. You start out heading east and stop and scenic Lake Maggiore where you have lunch. After lunch you proceed on your scenic journey to Zermatt, traversing the tunnels, valleys and mountains of the Simplon Pass as you do so. You will take a cog wheel train up to your resort where dinner with stunning Alpine views is on tap for tonight.

Day 9 To the Top of Mount Gornergrat

Zermatt is a car free area adding to the pure air at its 5,300 feet altitude. You are headed higher today however as you take another cog railway to the top of Mount Gornergrat. When you disembark you will be another 5,000 feet higher and the views are spectacular. Switzerland has 34 mountains over 12,000 feet high and from your vantage you can look for 9 miles in all directions and see 29 of them including Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Savor some coffee or hot chocolate as you enjoy the view before returning to the resort where after lunch you are free to explore the town.

Day 10 A Scenic and Culinary Drive to Geneva

This morning, your guide will be waiting to take you on a scenic trip to Geneva. On the way you will stop in Gruyeres to sample their justly famous cheese before arriving at Lake Geneva. As you drive along the lakeside, you will enjoy the vineyards stretching down to the water's edge and the stunning views of Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. You stop in the charming towns of Lausanne which is the world headquarters of the Olympics and the jet set destination of Montreux whose castle, located in the water inspired Lord Byron to write "The Prisoner of Chillon". You will have lunch in Montreux and after lunch continue on to Geneva, known as "the smallest metropolis in the world", is characterized by its international population. They are there for many reasons, from cultural activities to humanitarian commitments. This is also the European HQ of the United Nations and the home of the Red Cross. You arrive at Geneva's first hotel and still considered to be its best.

Day 11 The Best of Geneva and its Lake

After breakfast your guide will meet you to take you on a walking tour made easier by the central location of your hotel. You will stroll along the lakeside; see the Palais de Nations, the UN headquarters and the trendy shops. You will also explore old town with its charming small streets and quaint buildings. This is also where you have lunch before boarding a vintage steamer for a scenic cruise on Lake Geneva. You will see villages and vineyards lining the shore with the Alps as an admirable backdrop. Upon return you will be welcomed back by the "jet'd'eau", the water fountain which rises out of the lake as the symbol of Geneva. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner overlooking the Lake and the famous fountain
