Day 1: Depart USA
This evening you embark on your trip to Lisbon your gateway to a luxury Portugal Vacation.
Day 2: Arrival in Lisbon
When you land in Lisbon, you will be met by one of our drivers who will take you to your elegant hotel in the centre of the city. After a chance to freshen up you will be transferred to the wharf where you board a yacht for a private sail along the coast. You will have lunch as you cruise and when you return to the wharf you will be transferred back to your Pousada. The evening is left open.

Day 3: Lisbon and Sintra
In the morning your guide will take you on a walking tour of some of the best known food stores and local favorite’s accompanied by beer and wine. Your tastings will vary but could include Biftanas (sautéed Pork on a bun), Portuguese Sardines and delicious desserts like custard tarts. After freshening up at your hotel you will drive along the Estoril Coast, passed the Casino and the trendy village of Cascais until you arrive at the hilltop town of Sintra which was the summer playground of the Royal family. You will visit one of the palaces which have, like many other edifices in the area, an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ quality. After touring the palace you return to Lisbon.

Day 4: The Templar Legacy
This is not a new spy story but a trip into the countryside to visit castles and churches built by the Knights Templar and still in remarkably good condition. In the evening you will enjoy dinner followed by a performance of Fado, the soulful music unique to Portugal.

Day 5: A Day in the Alentejo
Today you will head into the countryside to the area known as the Alentejo. It dates back to Roman Times and some people see a similarity with Tuscany since it is known for its food, wine and olive oil. The central town is called Evora and is a charming city to walk through especially a fully preserved 2nd Century Roman temple. You will visit a vineyard where you have lunch and a farm that creates superb olive oil which you get to taste.

Day 6: A Scenic Drive on the Vicentine Coast
After breakfast you check out of your hotel and meet up with your guide who will be taking you on a scenic drive from Lisbon to your resort in the Algarve. You will be driving through the coastal portion of the Alentejo. Much of the area is protected land and, as such, has not been developed for mass tourism. There are sand dunes, pristine beaches with nobody else on them and quaint fishing villages, one of which will make an excellent stop for lunch. In the afternoon you will arrive at your resort.

Days 7-9: Relaxing on the Algarve
The Algarve is blessed with a mild climate which is why it is an international golf mecca. While winter may be a little cold for ocean swimming there are still plenty of other activities to keep you going. During the other nine months you can do water skiing, surfing, Pitch and Putt or a treatment at the Spa. There are ten restaurants to choose from including a Japanese Sushi house, a German Biergarten and Michelin starred fine dining.

Day 10: Return to USA
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport where you catch a flight to Lisbon to connect to your USA bound flight.
