Highlights:
While Chile may arguably be the longest country in South America, it is not the largest - especially when compared to Brazil or even Argentina.
What Chile does have however is a sophisticated Capital, outstanding vineyards and the largest diversity of adventure locations. In addition to a desert, kept comfortable by the high altitude, Chile also offers an offshore bastion closer to the Polynesian Cultures than the Incan, here you will find great Scuba diving.
In the southern tip of the mainland is the area known as Patagonia with mountains, glaciers and beauty so intense it compels you back for more. We have combined deluxe lodges in each of these areas to offer you soft adventure combined with superb food, the best of Chilean wine and world class accommodations.

Days 3 & 4: The Unexpected Beauty of the High Desert
When you say desert to some people, they think sand and hot. In some places that may be true but the high altitude of the Atacama keeps temperatures bearable and, as you will find out, there is a lot more than sand. As an example, not far from the lodge is an area called Termas de Puritama which is a great place to go after your explorations. Made up of eight interconnected pools of crystal clear water fed by springs and offering 89.6 degree water it will loosen any aches. There are over 50 activities offered focused around treks, horse-riding, mountain climbing and biking. The attraction of the lodge is that you can participate at any level from novice to highly advanced. Treks can take you to altitudes between 8,200 and 14, 763 feet but given your two day stay it is probably better to stay around 9,000 feet. You can do high intensity mountain biking or a more leisurely pace. For example you can cycle from the green of the oasis through the brown of the mountains to the white of the salt flats, all in one journey. We do recommend horse riding on the salt flats even if you are not skilled on a horse. The horses are specially bred and trained to be at home in this environment. In between activities you will enjoy fine dining and the company of fellow adventurers.

Day 5: From the Desert to the Urban World
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Santiago where you are met and escorted to your chic boutique hotel. After checking in you meet your guide who will take you on a private and personal tour of some of the old established neighborhoods of Santiago as you walk the cobble stone streets and listen to the tales of how these significant places came to exist. You will start with the Yungay neighborhood with quaint households, charming churches and honored monuments. From there the next stop will be Italia neighborhood which is known a melting pot of origins mingled with Chilean tradition. Tour the vintage houses filled with art and enjoy “mote con huesillo” a typical regional treat. We will have some recommendations for dinner but dine early since you have an early flight to Easter Island in the morning.
Breakfast
Day 6: Santiago to Easter Island
You will be picked up early and transferred to the airport for the flight to Rapa Nui which is also known as Easter Island. Check in time is less since, even though it is five hours over water it is still considered to be a domestic flight. You will be flying to the most remote inhabited island in the world. Santiago is the closest destination to the east with Tahiti the closest to the west. Actually the closest inhabited island is Pitcairn Island which is populated by the descendants’ of the mutineers on HMS Bounty. When you arrive it will be mid-morning given the time change and you will be met and taken to the resort which is located on a hill in the centre of the island offering sea views in many directions. You can check in and then have lunch. You might want to take a nap by the pool.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 7: The Moais of Rapa Nui
When people think of Easter Island, they think of those large heads facing out to sea. In actuality, many of them have full torsos but have sunk in the sand overtime. Nobody knows their origin or the people who created them prior to the arrival of the Polynesians. In addition to viewing the Moais and quarry from which they were dug, you have numerous other explorations to select from. You can explore on foot, on bicycle or in 4WS vehicles. The previous evening, over cocktails, one of the guides will have gone over the options for today and you can choose from one or two half day programs or a full day exploration, in which case and outdoor picnic lunch would be served.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 8: Easter Island from the Sea
While all activities are optional, we do encourage you to sign up for at least a half day snorkeling trip. The lodge provides all the equipment. The water surrounding the island is the most transparent in the world so the coral reefs and the fish are a lot more vivid. Visibility can extend over 160 feet and the water temperature is 648 degrees year round so conditions are deal. If snorkeling is not for you, you can go out and fish for tuna the way the islanders do although yours would be catch and release. You can also sail to nearby islands and have the unique perspective of the main island as the first inhabitants from Oceania saw it.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 9: Polynesia to Patagonia
In mid-morning you are picked up and transferred to the airport for a return flight to the mainland where you connect with a flight to Punta Arenas where you are met and taken to your hotel for an overnight stay. You will have gone from a Polynesian island to the far south of Patagonia, not too far from Antarctica and yet you have not left Chile.
Breakfast
Day 10: Welcome to Patagonia
After breakfast a representative of the lodge will meet you and take you into Torres Del Paine National Park and your exclusive lodge. The journey will take about four hours half of which is on paved roads and the other half on more rugged roads within the park itself. You will stop for a light meal along the way and the scenery will make the journey seem shorter. Upon reaching the lodge you will be taken to your room for a chance to freshen up and then enjoy cocktails while a guide explains the trekking and horse riding excursions being offered the next day. You will find that you have had practice in trekking, climbing and horse rising while in the high desert so you might feel more confident about selecting something a little more challenging ( lower altitude is also your friend). After the presentation it is time for dinner with fine Chilean wine.
Breakfast Lunch and Dinner
Days 11 and 12: The Scenic Delights of Torres Del Paine
During these two days you can participate in as many of the offered excursions. Most programs have half day and full day options and the full day programs would include a picnic or a barbecue lunch. You can, however opt to spend time around the lodge sitting on the terrace admiring the lake and the mountain views, getting a spa treatment or doing laps in the indoor pool. If you choose the more active options the choices are trekking or horse riding much like the Altiplano but with different scenery. If you have a comfort level on the horse then opt for the horse riding with a guide and a gaucho along with you. Each evening will be a gourmet treat to round off an exciting day.
Breakfast Lunch and Dinner
Day 13: Departure from Patagonia
After breakfast you will board a vehicle for the journey out of the park. You will be taken to the airport at Punta Arenas which will take you to Santiago where you connect with an overnight flight returning you to the USA.

Day 14: Arrive in USA
You arrive back home in the morning.
