Day 1: Depart USA
You board your trans-Pacific flight headed to the myriad island of Indonesia of which you will visit three.
Day 2: En Route
Cross the International Date Line and “lose” a day which you will gain back on the return trip.
Day 3: Arrival in Java
You will arrive at the airport in Yogyakarta where you are met by our guide who will take you to the car that will take you to your hotel where the rest of the day is left open.
Day 4: Yogyakarta and Borobudur
After breakfast you begin your exploration starting with Beringharjo Traditional Market filled with exotic vegetables and spices unique to Indonesian cooking as well as seasonal tropical fruits some tasting is in order. You then enjoy a city tour including the Sultan’s Palace followed by lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon drive to the UNESCO Heritage site of Borobudur the largest Buddhist temple in the world. Tour the temple complex by cyclo before returning to the city.

Day 5: The Temples of Kalladem and Prambanan
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then meet your guide who will take you to Kalladem where you hop on a bike for a very easy ride through the village with views of Mt. Merapi to Candi Plaosan where you have lunch. You then visit Prambanan, a Hindu temple built in the 9th Century. After a tour with your knowledgeable guide you return to Yogyakarta.

Day 6: A Scenic Train Ride to Mojokerto
You will receive an early morning wake up and a breakfast box will be prepared by the hotel for you to eat on the train. Your journey offers interesting scenery as you make your way to East Java. It should be noted that you would have left your main luggage outside your room the night before where it is collected and driven overnight to be at the station in Mojokerto. Travelling by train in Java is a wonderful opportunity to meet local people and is also the best way to enjoy the scenic landscapes of Central and East Java. Upon arrival you collect your luggage and driven to Ngadisari with a stop for lunch along the way. This village is one of the prime gateways to Mt. Bromo.

Day 7: Mount Bromo and a Scenic Drive to Banyuwangi
Awake early for a sunrise tour of Mt Bromo. Travel by 4WD jeep to a viewing spot with stunning views of Bromo volcano and its surroundings as the sun rises. Drive to a spot where you can go to the rim of the still-active Bromo Crater. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Depart the hotel for a scenic drive along the coastal road to East Java stopping for lunch along the way.

Day 8: Mount ljen and a Coffee Plantation
In the morning you will travel to Mount ljen to view its crater lake and Sulphur mines. The lake is 600 feet and you will get to see the agility and strength of the famous miners as they collect and carry the Sulphur blocks up to the crater rim. You next drive to the former Dutch Plantation of Kali Klatak for traditional lunch along with local coffee. You then get a tour to see the production and harvesting of produce such as cacao, coffee, pepper and rubber. Finish with afternoon tea with views across a fantastic vista to Bali.

Day 9: A Ferry to Bali
After breakfast you will be transferred to Ketapang Harbour where you board a ferry for the 45 minute cruise to Gilimanuk Harbour. You will be met and driven to Lovina one of Bali’s renowned black sand beach destinations on the peaceful and scenic north coast. Time to relax on the beach and take a swim before dinner at the hotel

Day 10: Introduction to Bali
Today you will try to Ubud which is the cultural capital of Bali and located in the centre of the island. You will visit a variety of temples and see rural life among the rice paddies and you’ll stop for lunch along the way. You then arrive in Ubud. We have left the evening open since there is an abundance of quality dining venues close to your hotel including at the hotel itself.

Day 11: Inside Bali
Enjoy breakfast before traveling north to the rice terraces of Tegalalang where you get an extensive schooling about subak systems if rice irrigation. These quiet, verdant paths lined by palm trees also present a great photo op. You then visit the former home of Antonio Blanco, now a museum devoted to his work. Lunch along the Ubud River is followed by a visit to the sacred Monkey Forest with great significance to the Hindu culture. You then have some free time to explore the arts and crafts stores in Ubud. In the early evening you will be picked up and taken to enjoy a local performance of Balinese dancing.

Day 12: Ubud Market, the Mother Temple of Bali and Water of the Ganges
Start your day with a visit to the Ubud Market to mingle with the locals and to enjoy the colorful flowers used as temple offerings. Continue along the scenic roads to Besakih, the largest and most religiously temple on the island. You will have lunch at a restaurant surrounded by rice paddies and then on to the east coast of Bali and the town of Candidasa. Breakfast and Lunch
Day 13: A Fast Boat to Gili Trawangan
After breakfast you are transferred to the dock where you board a speedboat for the trip to Gili Trawangan. When you arrive you are me by our representative and transferred by cidomo, a horse-drawn cart since there ae no cars on the island. While you are unlikely to leave your resort, you can get bikes or a cidomo to take you around the Ireland. Enjoy dinner at the resort followed by a movie on the beach?

Day 14: Day at leisure
Spend the day enjoying the pristine waters and coral reef close to the resort. You can scuba dive; snorkel or you can use a unique device that allows you to explore the nearby water with an air hose connected. You can also rent bikes and tour the island.

Day 15: Return to USA arriving back the same day
