Day 1: USA-Singapore
Today is the day you begin your unique and interesting adventure which starts with a flight across the Pacific.
Day 2: En Route
As you make your way across the Pacific you will technically “lose’ a day as you cross the International Date Line but that day will be “found” on your return.
Day 3: Arrival in Singapore
Upon arrival in Singapore you will be met by our guide and taken to your hotel where you can rest after your flight. In the early evening you will embark on an imaginary journey through the rainforests of Asia where trees come into life after a monsoon rain. Watch the Supertrees come alive with original music compositions inspired by tropical rainforests. You will then be taken to the Singapore River where you board an authentic bumboat for a cruise through the nation’s history. You will pass by godowns (warehouses) and old shops that show the history as a major port. You will also see colonial buildings juxtaposed with state of the art architecture. You emerge from the river to see the Merlion, the symbol of Singapore. Half fish, half lion. Finish the evening with a local favorite, chili crab always accompanied by fried Chinese buns called mantou. You will then be returned to the hotel.

Day 4: The Multicultural Heritage of Singapore
After breakfast you meet your guide for a full day tour of the many cultures that make up Singapore. First visit the Fountain of Wealth which is the largest fountain in the world. It was built by the Chinese since water symbolizes wealth. From there you visit historic Chinatown a mix of old and new with traditional shops and markets mingling with trendy stores and cafes. You will visit the Yong Gallery where a mast calligrapher will translate your name into Chinese characters on a red fan which you get to take with ou. Have lunch in Chinatown and then you will be driven to Kampong Glam to learn and understand more about the Malay culture. Take a walk in Arab Street to view the Sultan Mosque and visit different shops selling traditional Arab-Muslim food and merchandise. Finish your cultural tour by hopping into a ‘trishaw’ for a tour through Little India enjoying the many colors and scents. You are then returned to the hotel. Try Clarke Quay for a variety of dining options.

Day 5: A Variety of Gardens the Peranakan Heritage and an Elegant Finale
Start your day with a visit to Singapore’s newest iconic attraction, Sands Sky Park. Sitting on top of three separate hotel towers of the Marina Sands Hotel, the park is 600 feet in the sky stretching as long as the Eiffel Tower is high. With 36,000 square feet it offers idyllic landscape gardens home to 250 trees and 659 types of plants. All this plus the views over the surrounding area. You descend to sea level to visit Gardens by the Bay. Flower Dome replicates the climate of regions like South Africa, California, Spain and Italy. Here you will find Baobab trees, the Madagascar Ghost tree and the 1,000 year old Olive tree. The Flower field offers a changing display of vibrant plants and blooms while Cloud Forest offers a 105 foot waterfall amidst lush vegetation and tropical epiphytes. After lunch you discover the history of the Peranakan Babas (men) and Nonyas (women) who were Chinese immigrants to the Malay Archipelago from the early 15th to the 17th Century. You will get a tour of the Peranakan Museum that houses a display of costumes, embroidery, beadwork, jewelry, porcelain and other aspects of this unique culture. As you leave you visit the bustling enclaves of Katong and Joo Chiat and admire rows of traditional shophouses that date back to the 1920’s and 1930’s. Finish you visit with some traditional Nonya delicacies. Return to the hotel and enjoy a tasting menu at The Lighthouse Restaurant on top of the hotel and offering spectacular views of the surrounding area.

Day 6: The Ferry to Bintan Island
After breakfast you will be transferred to the ferry terminal where a high speed ferry will take you to the ferry terminal on Bintan Island where your hotel has its own reception area. You will be met and transferred to the resort where your private villa awaits. While the resort has two excellent restaurants you also have the choice of dining when and where you wish at the resort.

Days 7 & 8: Relaxing on Bintan Island
You have two full days to enjoy all that your resort has to offer including a pristine beach exclusively for the 30 villas at the resort, an excursion to a Mangrove River close by the resort or a round of Golf. If you like, your hosts can arrange a car for you to drive to the main town of Tanjung Pinnang to have lunch and enjoy the colonial Dutch architecture.

Day 9: Returning Home
You have the morning for one more visit to the spa or some beach time. After lunch you ae transferred to the ferry terminal and your resort’s VIP lounge. You board a ferry for the ride back to Singapore where you are met and taken to the airport for the return flight to the USA and home.

You “find” the day you lost and arrive back in the USA in the morning.
