Day 1: Depart USA
This evening you are on your way to Britain with an initial visit in London as you begin your unique Wales holiday.
Day 2: Welcome to London
When you arrive in London you will be met by one of our drivers who will take you into the city and the chic Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. To walk of the jet lag you can take a walk in nearby Kensington Gardens which is the location of Kensington Palace, home to William and Kate and Harry and Meghan. If you like to walk you can continue into Hyde Park and watch the swans on the Serpentine. Make your way back through Knightsbridge and stop for a glass of Champagne at Harrods.
Day 3: Hidden Gems of London
After a delicious Full English Breakfast you will ready to meet up with your private guide who will take you on a tour of one of the hidden neighborhoods of London. Prior to your departure we will send you a menu to allow you to select the area that most interests you. In the evening we will reserve seats at a play or musical of your choice in London’s West End.

Day 4: The Walled City of Chester
In the morning, a car will be waiting to take you to the station where 1st Class seats will be reserved for your trip to Chester a town dating back to Roman times. You meet your guide at the hotel and tour this ancient city on foot including its Cathedral, Roman Ramparts and unique shops.

Day 5: Crossing into Wales
Based on your previous decision you either pick up your rental car or meet your driver/guide for the journey into Wales. Drive along the northern coast of Wales for a visit to Caernarfon Castle where Queen Elizabeth II invested Prince Charles as Prince of Wales. Cross the Menai Bridge to the island of Anglesey which was the last Druid holdout against the Romans. You continue along the coast to your hotel which was built in the 17th Century but includes a tower dating back to the 13th Century. Before dinner, climb the tower for superb views of Conwy Castle and the mountains of Snowdonia. Enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 6: Conwy Castle and Bodnant Gardens
Start your day with a visit Conwy Castle and its surrounding walled city. You will have a chance to see the “best preserved medieval town house in Britain”. Take some time for lunch and then visit Bodnant Gardens with huge Italianate terraces and formal lawns on its upper level and a wooded valley, stream and wild garden below. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 7: Snowdonia National Park
Take advantage of your hotel’s proximity to Snowdonia National Park to explore its many trails, hike in the foothills, take the special train to the Snowdonia summit or just absorb the scenery including over 100 lakes.

Day 8: Porthmadog, Portmeirion and Pembrokeshire
Today you drive down the western coast of Wales. First stop is the town of Port hmadog a busy shipping port for the slate trade and now a favorite of international yachtsmen. Next you visit Port meirion the Italianate village located on a cliff top and the location of the 1960’s cult classic series “The Prisoner”. Stop for lunch in Aberyst with a noted seaside resort before arriving at your new hotel overlooking Caldey Island and the Gower Peninsula.

Day 9: Pembroke and Carew Castles
Your first visit today will be Pembroke Castle, located on a river estuary and the birthplace of Henry Tudor, father of Henry VIII and grandfather of Queen Elizabeth I. There are lots of passages, tunnels and stairwells to explore. A visit to Carew Castle allows you to see the development of a Norman Fortification to an Elizabethan Country House. The caste sits on a 23 acre tidal pool. The afternoon is left open to allow you to explore the grounds of the hotel and the nearby beach.

Day 10: The Wye Valley, Brecon Beacons and the Vale of Usk.
Start your scenic exploration in the Wye Valley hailed as the most romantic valley in wales and inspiration for painters and poets like Turner and Wordsworth. The area is area is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. One of the manmade wonders is Tintern Abbey the inspiration for one of Wordsworth’s most famous poems. The dramatic landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park is a stark contrast to the Wye Valley with its rugged escarpments, mountains and untamed woodlands. This is the source of the River Usk a fisherman’s paradise.

Day 11: Gloucester Cathedral and the Royal City of Bath
After breakfast you head east, leaving Wales and arriving back in England. Stop to admire the gothic beauty of Gloucester Cathedral before arriving in the city of Bath. Originally built by the Romans on the only hot springs in Britain, Bath reached its peak in the time of Jane Austen, a resident of the city. Visit the ancient Roman baths, still working, and admire the Regency terraces that define the city in the Austen era.

Day 12: Return to USA
Today you either drive to the airport in London to return your car or a driver will take you there. Either way you return back to the USA.
