Highlights:
The gastronomic capital of Andalusia, Seville is the source or close to the source of some of Spain’s most revered food and wine. During this suggested stay, you will have the opportunity to taste the finest Sherries, the freshest seafood, boutique wines and the “world’s best ham.'
It’s not all food however, since you visit the Andalusian countryside, stand in awe of the Rock of Gibraltar, and explore one the finest Moorish cities in Spain. As an added plus you only have to unpack and pack once. Think of it as a “foodies cruise” without the slot machines and the waterslide.

Day 4: Ronda and the Boutique wineries of Andalusia
Today you are met by your guide who will be taking you to Ronda which is about 80 miles southeast of Seville. The town is famous throughout Spain for the gaping river gorge with a sheer drop 0f 360 feet which separates the medieval from the 18th Century parts of town. The two are connected by the “new” bridge built in the 19th Century. Before entering the city you will visit some recently established wineries, all of which are around 2,300 feet above sea level, a necessary requisite for making high quality wines this far south. After a tour of Ronda you will stop in Grazalema, one of the “white villages” and a source of superb olive oil.
Breakfast and Lunch
Day 5: Cooking in the Andalucian Way
In the morning you meet a professional chef who will take you to the markets to shop for the ingredients used in a typical Andalusian lunch. As in France, lunch is an important part of the day with leisurely lunches the norm. Once you have secured the ingredients you will work with the chef to create a multi-course meal. In addition to the knowledge gained, you have a delightful lunch to enjoy with the appropriate wines.
Breakfast and Lunch
Day 6: The Home of the Jamon Iberico
Today you will drive to Sierra de Aracena the source of Jamon Iberico, the “caviar’ of hams. The Iberico pig is famous for its black hooves as well as black skin and hair. They are descendants of the Mediterranean Wild Boar. Their habitat is the open ranges of the Sierra de Aracena where they are fed solely and naturally on acorns that fall from the many oak trees. This gives the ham, a staple of the best tapas bars and restaurants, a unique nutty taste. You will visit a private ranch to see the pigs in their environment after lunch in Aracena, you will visit the town of Jabugo where the hams are cured and smoked. You get to sample before returning to Seville in the late afternoon.
Breakfast and Lunch
Day 7: Your Personal Seville
We recommend a free day to allow you time to explore on your own. You can wander through the Santa Cruz area, take a carriage ride through Maria Luisa Park or we can get you fast access tickets to the Alcazar or Seville Cathedral. If you are truly adventurous we can take you on a day trip to Mysterious Tangier situated in Morocco but a short ferry ride away from Tarifa.
Breakfast
Day 8: A Little Bit of Britain
For something different, we suggest a day trip to the British enclave of Gibraltar where you can stand in awe of the Rock of Gibraltar, be accosted by inquisitive apes and have a pint of beer instead of Sangria. The land mass of Gibraltar is so limited that the runway for the airport has barriers on each side of the runway since a road goes across it. Just like a train arriving, when a plane is arriving or departing, the lights flash and the barrier comes down. Worth coming just for that. You will however find the people very friendly.
Breakfast
Day 9: Sanlucar de Barrameda
Today you will visit Sanlucar de Barrameda which is the second town producing Sherry but less visited by tourists than its sister city, Jerez. It has a spectacular location at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River looking across the Donana national park to the Atlantic Ocean. It is because of this location that the town is equally known for its fine seafood. You will visit the vineyards where the grapes are grown and the bodegas where they are blended and fortified prior to maturing in wooden casks. You will enjoy some of the finest Manzanilla with a seafood and shellfish luncheon.
Breakfast and Lunch
Day 10: Return to USA
After breakfast, your car will be waiting to take you to the airport for your connecting flight back to the USA, arriving back the same afternoon.
