Day 1: Depart USA
You board an aircraft for the overnight flight to Buenos Aires.
Day 2: Arrival in Argentina
You arrive in Buenos Aires early in the morning and will be met by one of our representatives who will assist you in transferring to the domestic flight to Salta where you are met and taken to your hotel. Salta is one of the most appealing towns in the northwest so take time to admire its Spanish colonial architecture.
Dinner
Day 3: Cachi and the Calchaqui Valley
After breakfast you meet your guide for a drive into the Andes to the town of Cachi where you check into your picturesque hotel situated in the midst of a beautiful valley. The rest of the day is yours to relax, get a massage at the spa and a swim in the pool or a soak in the hot tub. Select a vintage from the wine cellar to enjoy with dinner.

Day 4: Drive through the Gorge of the Spears
Today your guide will take you on a spectacular drive through the Calchaqui Valley as you head into the noted wine region of Cafayate. To get there you drive through one of the most stunning landscapes, “de La Felchas Gorge” which translates as Gorge of the Spears. Once through the pass you begin your descent into Cafayate and your hotel situated in the vineyards and which your room overlooks. Start your stay with dinner at the noted restaurant.

Day 5: Exploring El Esteco
Your hotel was once a hacienda and the vineyard now produces the noted El Esteco wine. You have the chance to spend time in the vineyards either on foot or on the back of a Peruvian Paso horse which adds to the experience. You visit the winery and take part in a vertical tasting as well as the chance to blend your own wine.

Day 6: A Day of Options
Today you have a variety of options. You can take a drive along the wine route which gives you the chance to visit other wineries along a six mile route. Better yet, do it by bike. You can play a round of golf at a private club near the hotel or follow a hiking path once used by the indigenous people. More horse riding and time at the spa is also on offer.

Day 7: Cafayate to Buenos Aires
Today you will leave the Calchaqui Valley and drive to Salta where you board a flight for Buenos Aires, a beautiful and seductive port city, stretching along the River Plate, the widest river in the world. It is also the home of the tango. Arriving in the city you are met and escorted to your hotel which is located in the heart of the shopping and art gallery district. It is also a ten minute walk to La Recoleta Cemetery the resting place of Evita.

Day 8: City highlights and a Tango you can believe in
After breakfast you will meet your guide for a private tour of the neighborhoods that make up Buenos Aires. Portenos, the residents of Buenos Aires, are known to have an elaborate and rich cultural entity. The lifestyle and architecture is markedly European, in fact, Buenos Aires is known as the “Paris of South America”. A highlight of the day will be the visit to the Italian neighborhood known as La Boca and noted for its multi-colored houses. In the evening you will have dinner followed by a performance of true tango.

Day 9: Escape to the Pampas
The broad open plains of the Pampa are home to the gaucho and the incubator for worldwide polo. Your estancia hosts its own world class polo team and you are likely to see them on the practice fields if they are not traveling. A former estate, the main house offers elegance and comfort as you would expect from a Relais et Châteaux property. Upon arrival you can explore the estancia either on horseback or in a carriage. In the evening dine well on food that could well have been grilled on an open fire and served alongside premium wines.

Day 10: The Artisans of San Antonio de Areco
Today you have the chance to visit the nearby town of San Antonio De Areco which is known for its Gaucho Museum. It also has a variety of skilled craftsmen including superb silversmiths and those who work with leather. See if you can resist a beautiful silver chalice or a hand-made saddle. Return to the Estancia for another fulfilling dinner.

Day 11: Return to USA
Today you have the choice of relaxing by the pool at the Estancia or heading back to Buenos Aires for some shopping. Either way you will be transferred to the airport for the return evening flight back to the USA.
