Day 1: USA-Lima
Tour flight today will bring you to Lima the capital of Peru. Most US flights arrive in late afternoon or early evening and you will be met and taken to your elegant hotel located in the exclusive San Isidro neighborhood.
Day 2: Cusco and the Sacred Valley
After breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Cusco. Here you are met and taken to an elegant resort in the Sacred Valley. You have lunch and in the afternoon a choice of options either active or touristic.

Day 3: A Day of Options
The Scared Valley with the Urubamba River flowing through it is one of the most delightful spots on earth and it is no wonder that the Incas defined it as a sacred place. If you are active you can choose from a variety of options including an ATV safari through the forest, a rafting trip down the Urubamba River or horseback riding through the valley. Staying closer to the resort you can take a yoga class and get a massage or treatment at the spa.

Day 4: Machu Picchu Luxe
Any visit to Machu Picchu is a unique experience no matter how you get there but it becomes a little more special when you are able to do it in style. Start your visit with a transfer to the station in Ollantaytambo where you board the Hiram Bingham luxury train. In an experience similar to the Orient Express (which is operated by the same company) you enjoy an elegant lunch along with Peruvian wines. You meet your guide for a guided tour of the site while enjoying afternoon tea at an elegant Lodge, the only one in proximity to the site. Finish up your guided visit and then re-board the Hiram Bingham for cocktails in the lounge car followed by an elegant dinner in the dining car. You are then transferred back to the Sacred Valley.

Day 5: All aboard for Puno
Following breakfast you are transferred to Cusco where you board the modern and elegant Belmond Andean Explorer whose wide picture windows will allow you to enjoy the sights as you travel one of the highest railway lines in the world. After a chance to settle in to your cabin it is time for lunch in the dining car. In the afternoon, you disembark at the town of Raqchi to do some exploring before re-boarding in time for afternoon tea. Watch the sunset at La Raya and then it’s cocktail time followed by an elegant dinner prior to arriving at Titicaca Lake Station.

Day 6 Lake Titicaca and All aboard for Colca
After an overnight on the train, you enjoy breakfast in the ding car before disembarking for a visit to Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Take a boat to visit the Uros people who live on islands created from weaving reeds. You will then visit Taquile Island which was, at one time, a place where political prisoners were sent. It has now been returned to its original inhabitants who will welcome with typical dances and a lunch served on the beach. In the mid-afternoon you return to the train which departs for Colca while you enjoy afternoon tea. Later, Cocktails and Dinner complete the day.

Day 7: Sumbay Caves and Baby Alpacas
Enjoy breakfast in the dining car as your train begins its final run. Stop at the Sumbay Caves to admire the indigenous rock art before arriving at your disembarkation point in Colca. A driver will be waiting to take you to your individual elegant Casita set in the pristine wilderness of the Colca Valley. You may decide to feed one of the baby alpacas at the resorts farm or learn how to make the perfect Pisco Sour from your bartender.

Day 8: Condors of the Canyon
While there are a wide variety of activities in the valley, your priority should be to follow the directions of the concierge who will indicate the best viewing spot at the rim of the Colca Canyon as you watch the impressive Andean Condor utilizing the thermals from the canyon to soar effortlessly but always in search of the next meal.

Day 9: Arequipa and Lima
After breakfast you will be transferred to the “white city” of Arequipa where you board a flight for Lima. You will connect to an overnight flight back to the USA.
