Day 1: Depart USA
This evening you would make your way to the airport for your overnight flight to Dublin and a unique Irish experience.
Day 2: Welcome to Dublin
You will arrive in Dublin in the morning and be met by one of our drivers who will take you to your accommodations located in the heart of the city overlooking St. Stephen’s Green. Technically the property is a restaurant with rooms but the rooms are furnished in antiques and modern amenities and the restaurant is one of the city’s premier seafood restaurants especially its marble-topped oyster bar. After relaxing following your flight try out the Oyster Bar and restaurant for yourself.

Day 3: A Dublin Immersion
After a good night’s sleep and a full Irish breakfast you will be ready to meet your guide for a tour of Dublin’s highlights. You’ll visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Trinity College a renowned center of learning, founded by Queen Elizabeth I, and home to the illuminated manuscript, The Book of Kells. You then embark on a literary tour that will show you areas associated with Ireland’s great writers. You’ll also spend time following the trail of Leopold Bloom from James Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’. Return to the hotel for lunch and then take a stroll over to Grafton Street, the pedestrian shopping area with a wide variety of stores. In the evening, the Temple Bar area is also close by with a variety of pubs and restaurants especially singing pubs.

Day 4: Restoration and Georgian Dublin
Today you explore Georgian Dublin using the banks of the Grand Canal as a road map. As you walk along the pathway with your guide, you not only enjoy the pleasures of the canal itself but learn where Restoration and Georgian Dublin began. Through pointing out various sights your guide will weave a narrative involving literary, artistic and revolutionary connections to the area. At the end of your walk you will be in the old dockyards area which has been totally rebuilt as a shopping and entertainment complex. You may want to spend some time. In the evening you will go to a pub that dates back to 1198. Here you will have dinner, listen to Irish music and be enchanted by storytellers who will convince you that Faeries and little people do exist.

Day 5: Dublin to Ardmore
In the morning your driver will be waiting to take you to Ardmore which is on the coast. On the way you will stop in Cork, a charming university city which is known for the English Market which is a foodies’ mecca where you can find and view the finest of Irish foods. Pick up the ingredients for a picnic as you make your way to Ardmore. Upon arrival at Cliff House you are met and escorted to your room overlooking Ardmore Bay. Take some time to explore before enjoying the fine cuisine on offer and then return to sit on your balcony watching the moon reflected on the bay.

Day 6: Conquering the Waterford Greenway
The Waterford Greenway was, at one time a rail line running from Waterford to Dunvargan. Today it has been converted to grass and makes a scenic 30 mile journey either by bike or on foot. Along the route you will enjoy spectacular land and water views especially crossing over the viaduct. There are refreshment stops along the way. If you prefer to bike let us know in advance. After your trip you will return to your hotel for a dip in the ocean or the pool and a massage at the spa.

Day 7: Waterford Delights
Today you will have a private driver/guide who will help you explore some of the interesting places in County Waterford. Visit Youghal, a quiet country town that also serves as a beach resort with a long stretch of pristine beach. You will admire Lismore castle owned by the Duke of Devonshire (and available for hire for you and 26 of your closest friends) Dungarvan also has a castle and a beach and you will have seen it yesterday of you took the Greenway. You will also visit Waterford, home of the famous crystal but also one of the oldest towns in Ireland having been founded by the Vikings in 938 AD. Your guide will select a good place for you to have an atmospheric lunch.

Day 8: Ardmore to Kildare
Today you move closer to Dublin as your driver takes you to Kildare to a unique venture called Cliff at Lyons. Basically a village built around a country house and inn. The property is located and one of the major locks of the Grand Canal which was used to ship ingredients for Guinness. Upon arrival you have a light lunch at Trellis and can then explore the canal or enjoy a treatment at the Spa. Dinner will be at the Orangery.

Day 9: Focus on Food
Today will be an immersion in fine Irish cooking starting with a class at the property’s fully equipped kitchen/classroom. Learn techniques and ingredients and sample the results as lunch. Walk off the launch by exploring the surrounding countryside. In the evening enjoy an 18 course tasting menu offered at Aimsir the property’s fine dining restaurant.

Day 10: Return to USA
In the morning you are transferred to Dublin airport for the return flight to the USA where you arrive back the same afternoon.
