Day 1: Depart USA
Tonight you board your overnight flight to Dublin and the beginning of your adventure on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Day 2: Dublin and Sligo
You land in Dublin and you are met by your guide who will escort you to the car. You will be driving across Ireland as you make your way to Sligo. You arrive at your hotel in time for lunch and then have time in the afternoon to walk the grounds or take a nap before enjoying dinner. Venison from the estate is a specialty.

Day 3: Ancient Tombs and the Heritage of William Butler Yeats
The mountains around Sligo are home to a variety of untouched megalithic tombs dating back 5,000 years. Your guide will explain their history and significance as you also enjoy the views out to sea. Your hotel will pack a picnic lunch for you which you can enjoy in a scenic setting before visiting several sites that inspired the poems by the Irish treasure W. B. Yeats. You will also visit the churchyard where he is buried.

Day 4: Ballina and a Moy River Cruise
Today you make your way to the charming town of Ballina situated on the banks of the Moy River. You check in to your hotel which was originally an Ice House used to store salmon which abound in the river. It has been totally repurposed as a contemporary luxury boutique hotel complete with spa. In the afternoon take a guided kayak cruise up the Moy River past Belleek forest and Nimmo’s Canal where you will see Kingfishers, Seals and Salmon jumping near your kayak.

Day 5: Lismore and Byron Bay
In the morning enjoy a tour of the many coastal towns and beaches in the area including Lismore and Byron Bay. In the afternoon you have free time to enjoy a treatment at the spa before enjoying another dinner at the hotel.

Day 6: The Coastal Route to Galway
Leave Ballina and drive west to Clews Bay and then follow the coast stopping for lunch in Clifden before arriving at Galway City located at the mouth of Lough Corrib where it connects with Galway City, Ireland’s fourth largest city and also considered to be its cultural capital. There are a wide variety of restaurants close to your hotel.

Day 7: Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher
Your guide will take you to the village of Doolin where you board a ferry that will take you on a 30 minute ferry ride to Inis Oirr (Eastern Island) which is one of the Gaelic speaking Aran Islands. Upon arrival you have the choice of walking the quiet lanes of the island, renting bikes or hiring a pony and trap to take you on a tour of the island. There are three pubs on the island, all serving food and music, at times. After a couple of hours on the island you board a boat that will take you along the cliffs to give you the chance to view their 600 feet height from the water. When you dock back at Doolin, your guide will take you where you can admire the cliffs from the top. Breakfast
Day 8: A Charming way to Adare
Your guide will be ready to take you on a scenic route to the picturesque town of Adare where you will be staying at its most notable hotel. Enjoy the facilities before enjoying one of their renowned meals in their impressive dining room.

Day 9: The Dingle Peninsula, Ireland’s Brigadoon
For centuries the prohibitive Conor Pass guarded the peninsula keeping out foreign influences until modern road building and the internal combustion engine opened up the area. It has stayed true to its Gaelic roots however with Gaelic still being the language spoken by most inhabitants and it is also a center of traditional Irish music. You will drive around the peninsula on your way to Killarney and its scenery; all surrounded by water, will explain why David Lean selected it as the location for his movie of the best seller, ‘Ryan’s Daughter.'

Day 10: Killarney by Boat and Trap
After breakfast you make your way to Ross Castle where you start your trip in a traditional open boat through the three Lakes of Killarney passing by Innisfallen Island, Bricin Bridge and Torc Mountain. You will finish up at a local cottage restaurant where you have the chance to enjoy a light lunch. You then meet your ‘Jarvey’ which is the name given to the drivers of the Irish Jaunting Car. More than a driver, they are a guide and storyteller who will take you through the Gap of Dunloe before returning you to town in the late afternoon. Your hotel is right in town so you may want to try some fish and chips. If so Quilan’s and Danny Mann’s are recommended. Finish off the evening with music at one of the singing pubs like “The Laurels.”

Day 11: The Ring of Kerry
After breakfast, your guide will be ready to take you on a scenic tour around the Ring of Kerry which offers a one hundred mile circular journey through some of Kerry’s most outstanding scenery. During your day you will travel through Killorglin, by Caragh Lake and Glenbeigh where you get your first view of the Atlantic at Rossbeigh. You will visit Kells and Cahersiveen where Valentia Island is visible offshore. Stopping for lunch at a scenic spot you continue on to Ballinskelligs and Coomakista Pass before arriving in Kenmare. On your way back to Killarney you get superb views of the lakes from Molly’s Gap and Ladies’ View before arriving back in Killarney. If all those seascapes have put you in the mood for lobster, we suggest you try Gaby’s.

Day 12: Driving the West Cork Coastline
Enjoy a delightfully scenic journey from Killarney to Kinsale following the West Cork Coastline instead of the more “popular” inland route. Leave Killarney and head south passing through quaint towns like Ballylickey and Bantry before arriving at the fishing village of Baltimore where you have lunch. You then begin the most scenic drive of the day as you follow the coast to Kinsale passing through villages like Clonakilty and Ballinspittle before arriving at the coastal town of Kinsale. Formerly a fishing village the town is more known today as a mecca for foodies with many fishermen’s cottages made into restaurants. You have a wide selection within walking distance of the hotel.

Day 13: A Dublin Finale
Along with your guide, you follow a coastal route from Kinsale to Dublin. Upon arrival you check into your hotel and have some time for shopping. In the evening you will dine at Dublin’s oldest Pub followed by Irish music and storytelling.

You will be transferred to Dublin airport for the return flight to the USA arriving back the same afternoon.
