You arrive in Chile the next morning and will be met by one of our drivers who will take you to your hotel located in the chic area of Lastarria which was one of the original neighborhoods but now evolved into a Parisian-like combination of quaint alleyways, wine bars and art galleries. The hotel also has a rooftop bar offering delightful views of the city, especially at night.

In the morning you will meet your guide for an overview tour of the city highlights including Plaza de Armas, dating back to Spanish times and a variety of the neighborhoods that make up contemporary Santiago. After lunch at a local restaurant the rest of the day is open.

Day 4: Valparaiso and Vina del Mar
After breakfast you will be picked up by your guide and head west to the Pacific Ocean. Your destination will be the city of Valparaiso which was, prior to the Panama Canal, a major port for cargo ships sailing ‘round the horn”. As such it developed a reputation much like San Francisco which, with its hills, cable cars and funky warehouse area, it resembles. Enjoy a ride on a cable car for the views and then head to the nearby beachside town of Vina Del Mar where you have lunch. If Valparaiso is Chile’s San Francisco, Vina del Mar is Santa Barbara... As you head back to Santiago you will pass through the Casablanca Valley and up and coming wine region known for its Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blanc. Time may permit a stop for a tasting.
Breakfast and Lunch
Day 5: The “Cabs” of the Maipo Valley
Today you will leave the city and head south to the Maipo Valley one of the older wine regions and known for its Cabernet Sauvignons. Your first stop will be Santa Rita winery which is a state of the art winery. It also has a history however with some buildings dating back to the 18th Century. You will get a chance to tour the vineyards and taste a variety of vintages with a cellar master. You will then visit the Cousino Macul Winery where you have lunch. You will get a history of the estate including a visit to the family wine cellar built by French architects in 1872. It goes 18 feet underground and has vintages dating back to the 1920’s. You will sample several vintages before being driven back to the city in time for dinner.
Breakfast and Lunch
Day 6: Santiago to Punta Arenas
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Punta Arenas. You will be met and taken to your hotel which located on the water in Patagonia. Parts of the building have been converted into the hotel. Originally the entire building was a refrigerating area where beef, lamb and other foods were stored prior to being loaded on ships to sail to many ports around the world. Wool was also a major export. In the afternoon you get a tour of the unconverted area which is now a museum. In the evening you dine at the Asador where meats are grilled to perfection.

Today we recommend that you take the full day tour into Torres Del Paine which is rightly considered as a contender for 8th wonder of the world.
