Day 1: USA-Brazil
This evening you board your aircraft for the overnight flight to Brazil and Rio de Janeiro.
Day 2: Arrival in Rio
Upon arrival you are met by one of our drivers and driven to your hotel which sits at the end of Copacabana Beach and a short walk from the start of the beach of Ipanema. You can also stroll around the neighborhood. In the evening enjoy dinner with a view at your hotel.

Day 3: Iconic sights of Rio
Your first visit today will be the world famous Pao de Acocar also known as Sugarloaf which has become one of two iconic symbols of Rio and attracting over 1,000,000 visitors a year. To reach the summit you take two separate cable cars, enjoying the view as you ascend. You arrive at the peak which is stands 1,200 feet above sea level and offers 360 degree views of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana beaches, Corcovado and downtown Rio. After enjoying the view you are taken to a Churrascaria where endless supplies of meat, poultry and seafood arrive at your table having been cooked on a barbecue. Many of the options are carved directly on to your plate. After lunch you visit the other main sights, one of the most recognizable in the world. Located atop Corcovado Hill, the statue of Christ the Redeemer looks down with arms stretched across all of Rio. Reaching the statue is also fun as your board a train for a trip through one of the few rainforests in an urban location. You are returned to your hotel for a free evening.

Day 4: A Different View of Rio
After breakfast you will meet a knowledgeable guide who will be taking you to various parts of Rio where graffiti has evolved into folk art and added a new layer of culture to the city. A good portion of the time will be spent in the Port Region and Santa Teresa.

Day 4: Salvador to Paraty
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Rio de Janeiro where one of our drivers will be waiting to take you to the quaint town of Paraty, considered to be one of the best examples of colonial architecture. Upon arrival, you check in to your picturesque hotel. Explore the area with your guide including the noted waterfalls and a distillery creating Cachaça the core ingredient in Caipirinhas, Brazil’s (or at least Rio’s) most famous libation. Sample one before dining at your hotel this evening.

Day 5: A Private tour of Paraty
Paraty is a small town backed by mountains on Brazil's Costa Verde, between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Its Portuguese colonial center has cobbled streets and 17th- and 18th-century buildings dating to its time as a port, during the Brazilian Gold Rush. Among its architectural landmarks is the waterfront Capela de Santa Rita, a whitewashed church built in 1722. This morning, your guide will take you on a private tour of the town. The afternoon is left open for you to explore on your own.

Day 6: Sailing and Snorkeling the Bay of Paraty
The Bay of Paraty is dotted with islands ideal for swimming or snorkeling. This morning you will board a schooner that will cruise the bay and make stops to allow swimming or snorkeling. Enjoy lunch on board before returning to the port of Paraty.

Day 7: The Boat to Ilha Grande
In the morning you will take a boat to Ilha Grande, an unspoilt tropical paradise. As its name suggests it is a big island but with few inhabitants. It is home to 107 beaches assuring a good chance for your own private beach. Behind the beaches are tropical rain forests with hiking trails just begging to be explored. Check into your environmentally friendly hotel and help the chef select fish for dinner offered by local fishermen. In the evening dine by candlelight or hurricane lamps.

Days 8 & 9: A Taste of Paradise
You have two full days to do absolutely nothing or explore to your heart’s content. There are shared boats to take guests to various beaches inkling Lopes Mendes, considered by both Conde Nast Traveler and Vogue as one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world. If you active you can rise early and hike to the top of the island. You can see Rio way off in the distance but are surrounded by nature. The small town of Abraao is a boat ride or a twenty minute coastal walk and offers shops and some good restaurants.

Day 10: Return to USA
You have time for one last swim before taking a boat to the mainland where a driver will be waiting to take you to the airport in Rio.
