Day 1: USA-Brazil
Today you board your aircraft for the flight to Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival you are met by one of our drivers and driven to your hotel which sits at the middle of Ipanema Beach and its waterfront lifestyle. You can stroll around the neighborhood. In the evening enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 2: Iconic sights of Rio
Your first visit today will be the world famous Pao de Acocar also known as Sugarloaf which has become one of two iconic symbols of Rio and attracting over 1,000,000 visitors a year. To reach the summit you take two separate cable cars, enjoying the view as you ascend. You arrive at the peak which is stands 1,200 feet above sea level and offers 360 degree views of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana beaches, Corcovado and downtown Rio. After enjoying the view you are taken to a Churrascaria where endless supplies of meat, poultry and seafood arrive at your table having been cooked on a barbecue. Many of the options are carved directly on to your plate. After lunch you visit the other main sights, one of the most recognizable in the world. Located atop Corcovado Hill, the statue of Christ the Redeemer looks down with arms stretched across all of Rio. Reaching the statue is also fun as your board a train for a trip through one of the few rainforests in an urban location. You are returned to your hotel for a free evening.

Day 3: From Ipanema to the Pantanal
Today you leave for the Pantanal. Your flight will bring you to Cuiaba, the capital of the Mata Grosso. You will be met and transferred to your eco Lodge located in the Pantanal, the largest flood plain on earth. Upon arrival you have a chance to relax, take a dip in the pool and learn about all the adventures open to you in the days ahead.

Days 4 & 5: Exploring the Pantanal
Your eco lodge is located in an area that allows access to the floodplain through a series of elevated walkways, boats and on horseback. You are also close to natural forests for you to explore and a large observation tower to view the bird life above the canopy. The Pantanal is home to 698 species of birds, 80 species of mammals, 26 of fish and 50 of reptiles. You will have a choice of guided visits in both the morning and afternoon.

Day 6: From the River to the Falls
After breakfast you disembark and met your driver who will take you to the airport for the flight to Foz Do Iguacu which shares a border with Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. You will be staying at an iconic hotel in the national park on the Brazilian part. Upon arrival you can relax, explore the grounds or try the spa. In the evening, dinner is served.

Day 7: The Falls, from all Sides
After breakfast you meet your guide who will be taking you on a full day tour of the falls. Start with a drive through the subtropical rain forest in Iguacu National Park. You will then follow a trail descending into the canyon and offering views of the more than 240 individual falls. You then take a glass elevator up the face of the cliff for even more spectacular views. You will then travel from Iguacu (Portuguese) to Iguassu (Spanish) when you cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge to the Argentinian side. Here you take a small train through the park before alighting at a walking trail with your guide leading the way. you take the upper walkway which allows you to get close to both the falls and the rainforest that surrounds them. You will then step out on a suspended platform that hangs over the “Devil’s Throat’ the largest of them all Return to the Brazilian side of the falls.

Day 8: Arrival in Salvador
After breakfast you are transferred to the airport for a flight to Salvador de Bahia. You arrive and are met by one of our guides and taken tour hotel that was built as a Carmelite convent in 1586. It is located in San Antonio close to the historic Pelourinho district. After freshening up you might explore the historic neighborhood around you.

Day 9: The Colonial and Cultural Heritage of Salvador
Today you will discover the essential sights of Salvador with your private guide. You will start with a trip to the water and the bays which define this city passing through elegant avenues and bustling tree- lined streets you will find yourself back in the area of your hotel. Pelourinho is a UNESCO world heritage site and the largest complex of colonial architecture in South America. Leaving the car behind, you walk through the narrow streets lined with pastel-colored buildings. You stop to visit the church of Sao Francisco with its gold-leafed Baroque interior and finishing at Pelourinho Square, the heart of the old town. This evening you will attend a performance of the Bahia Afro Ballet at the Miguel Santana Theatre. You will see the sacred dances of the Candomble and other songs and customs with their roots in African culture. After the performance you will have dinner in a 17th Century building housing what is considered to be the best restaurant in Salvador.

Day 10: The islands of the Bay
This morning you will be picked up and taken to the dock where you board your schooner for a full day cruise among the many beautiful (and mostly uninhabited) islands of the bay. As you start out you will meet your captain and crew and the captain with explain the importance of the islands in early colonization. You will stop for some free time on Itaparica where you have lunch and the chance to participate in Samba lessons in between dips in the pristine water. On the way back enjoy music and Caipirinhas as you make you way back to home port.

Day 11: The Historic Charm of Trancoso.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Ponto Seguro on the Bahia Coast. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your resort which sits on a spectacular beach in Trancoso. This area was settled by the Jesuits in the 16th Century and is one of the oldest areas of Brazil. After you have settled in and taken a swim you can make your way to the Quadrado which is anchored by the church but is surrounded by former fisherman’s houses now converted to chic boutiques and trendy restaurants.

Day 12: A Day at Leisure
Given the spectacular beaches next to the hotel you may want to spend most of your time swimming and working on your Brazilian tan. If you are more energetic you can go canoeing on the first river discovered in Brazil, go biking on some scenic trails or walking through the forest on raised walkways. End your day back at the Quadrado followed by a walk along the moonlit beach.

Day 13: Day of Departure
Enjoy part of the day on the beach. You will then be transferred to the airport to begin your journey back to the USA.
