Day 1: USA – Brazil
Today you will fly to Brazil connecting to the city of Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas region. You will be met and taken to your hotel where you can relax and dine at the hotel.

Day 2: Manaus and the Amazon
In the morning you are taken on a tour of the city which saw its high point at the end of the 19th Century during the rubber boom. You will visit the municipal market, built at the beginning of the 20th Century, where you will find a variety of products, many unique to the Amazon. You will see the mansions of the rich and houses built on stilts and the tour will terminate at the ornate opera house where Caruso once sang. Built in 1896 it has been fully restored to its past grandeur and still hosts musical events. After the tour, you will be transferred to the river where a boat will take you on a journey back in time as you enter a primordial world. Your resort, while offering all amenities is accessible only by boat and leaves a very small footprint within its environment. The Lodge is located within a private forest reserve of the Brazilian Amazon region. Take some time to settle in before enjoying a cocktail as the sun sets and you enjoy fine dining by candlelight.

Days 3-4: Exploring the Amazon
During two full days you will learn a lot about the Amazon ecosystem. A little over 18 miles of trails allow you to explore a variety of ecosystems on guided half day walks with a chance to refresh back at the lodge in between. Another option is a canoe trip through the Amazonian tributaries. Another option is a session of yoga to start the day. Two viewing towers located in the reserve allow you to view the various levels of activity up to 150 feet where you overlook the tops of the trees with Macaws and other colorful birds in free flight above and around you.

Day 5: Manaus to Iguassu Falls
After breakfast you will be transferred by boat to Manaus and then to the airport for a flight to Iguassu Falls which is shared by Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. You will be transferred to your historic hotel where you can walk the well-tended grounds with the noise generated by the falls in the background. Enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 6: Covering the Falls
After breakfast you meet your guide who will be taking you on a full day tour of the falls. Start with a drive through the subtropical rain forest in Iguacu National Park. You will then follow a trail descending into the canyon and offering views of the more than 240 individual falls. You then take a glass elevator up the face of the cliff for even more spectacular views. You will then travel from Iguacu (Portuguese) to Iguassu (Spanish) when you cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge to the Argentinian side. Here you take a small train through the park before alighting at a walking trail with your guide leading the way. you take the upper walkway which allows you to get close to both the falls and the rainforest that surrounds them. You will then step out on a suspended platform that hangs over the “Devil’s Throat’ the largest of them all Return to the Brazilian side of the falls.

Day 7: Copacabana Finale
Today you enter the final stage of your trip and what a finale it is. You fly to Rio De Janeiro where you are met and driven to another iconic hotel which is the Grande Dame of hotels and offers a superb location on Copacabana Beach. As if the beach was not enough, the hotel is a destination itself with five restaurants, two of which carry Michelin stars, a spa and a large pool with a view. Enjoy a cocktail overlooking Copacabana and then dine at one of the restaurants.

Day 8: Rio in a day
Your first visit today will be the world famous Pao de Acocar also known as Sugarloaf which has become one of two iconic symbols of Rio and attracting over 1,000,000 visitors a year. To reach the summit you take two separate cable cars, enjoying the view as you ascend. You arrive at the peak which is stands 1,200 feet above sea level and offers 360 degree views of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana beaches, Corcovado and downtown Rio. After enjoying the view you are taken to a Churrascaria where endless supplies of meat, poultry and seafood arrive at your table having been cooked on a barbecue. Many of the options are carved directly on to your plate. After lunch you visit the other main sights, one of the most recognizable in the world. Located atop Corcovado Hill, the statue of Christ the Redeemer looks down with arms stretched across all of Rio. Reaching the statue is also fun as your board a train for a trip through one of the few rainforests in an urban location. You are returned to your hotel for a free evening.

Day 9: Copacabana at Leisure
Today can be devoted to walking the breach or lying by the pool. You could also try a massage in the spa. In the late afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to the USA.
