Days 1-2: USA-Africa
Today you board your aircraft for a connecting flight in Europe to begin your Luxury Safari in Zimbabwe.
Day 3: Arrival in Zimbabwe
When you arrive at Victoria Falls airport you will be transferred to a flight that will take you to the airstrip at Hwange Main Camp where you will be met and transferred to Somalisa Camp where you can relax before dinner.
Days 4 & 5: Discovering the Wildlife Diversity of Hwange
You have two full days to enjoy the diversity of the park through a combination of game walks, game drives and even horseback safaris. Hwange is Zimbabwe’s biggest reserve, home to a profusion of wildlife including giraffe, lion, zebra and approximately 40,000 elephants. It provides sanctuary for all of the country’s endangered species, including a population of wild dogs thought to be among the most sizeable surviving groups on the continent. Terrain ranges from desert dunes and savannah lands to rocky outcrops and sparse forests.
Day 6: Hwange to Mana Pools
After your morning game drive you will be transferred to the airstrip for a flight to Mana Pools where you will be met and transferred to your luxury mobile camp which is situated on the banks of the Zambezi River. After getting comfortable in your tent you will enjoy an evening game activity along with sundowners and a delightful dinner overlooking the river.
Days 8 & 9: The Beauty of Mana Pools
Located in northern Zimbabwe, the life-giving power of the Zambezi River makes Mana Pools National Park one of Zimbabwe’s most lush and flourishing regions. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is known for its natural beauty and as a premier-game viewing area. You can look forward to an array of activities such as canoe trips which are offered year round and provide a memorable way to experience the area’s natural beauty. Guide walks are another great way to explore the pristine riverside forests. Other popular activities on offer include game drives, river cruises, bird watching, catch and release fishing and searching for dinosaur tracks.
Days 10 & 11: True Safari on the Kanga Pan
A stay on the Kanga Pan makes an excellent complement to the stay in the main Mana Pools area since you get two nights to experience true mobile safari living. You will be transferred by vehicle to Kanga which offers old Africa in a new era. This diverse area has multiple vlei lines, river systems of the Ruckomechi River and mixed woodland types from Mopane woodland to Jesse Bush and riverine forests. Kanga Pan itself is the only known year-round water source in the area making it a hub for wildlife and predators.
Day 12: Victoria Falls Finale
After some superb game viewing it might be good to end up the trip with a stay close to one of the world’s great wonders, Victoria Falls. You will be transferred from Kanga Camp to Mana Pools airstrip for a flight to Victoria Falls airport. You will then be transferred to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge where you have the chance to enjoy the grounds and the views before an elegant dinner.
Day 13: “The Smoke that Thunders”
After breakfast you will be transferred to Victoria Falls to experience it from the Zimbabwean side. If you are somewhat adventurous, you can swim to a natural rock pool right on the edge of the falls; if you are adventurous the Zambezi at the foot of the falls offers some of the best commercial white water rafting in the world. If you are beyond adventurous and approaching foolhardy, you tale a terrifying bungee jump over the falls.
Day 14: Game Fishing on the Zambezi
In the morning you will be picked up and taken to a dock on the Zambezi River for morning fishing on the Zambezi. Tiger Fish are known for their spirt and make excellent game fish. All fishing is catch and release. In the afternoon you have time to relax and prepare for the return home.
Day 15: Return to USA
You will be transferred ro Victoria Falls airport to return home to the USA.
