Day 1: USA-Africa
This evening you board an aircraft that will connect you to Africa and the beginning of your unique African Safari experience.
Day 2: Welcome to Africa
No matter where you connect or land in Africa, your final airport will be Victoria Falls Airport where you will be met and taken to your unique luxury camp located on the banks of the Zambezi River. Enjoy sunset over the river followed by dinner and then settle down in your elegant tree-house.
Day 3: Enjoying the Zambezi
After breakfast you will have the chance to enjoy some superb fishing (catch and release) on the Zambezi River. The tiger Fish is a great game fish. Return to the shore for lunch and a chance to relax in or around the pool enjoying the river views and the plentiful birdlife. In the late afternoon you will take a cruise on the river to enjoy the sunset before another well-prepared meal.
Day 4: A Day at Victoria Falls
In the morning you will be transferred to Victoria Falls which is about seven miles from the hotel. There are walkways offering different views of the impressive falls. If you are a little daring you can enter the water and sit in a rock pool right at the edge of the falls, a notch up is the option to undertake some adrenal rushed white water rafting and the ultimate adrenalin challenge as you bungee jump over the falls. Regardless of your fear factor you return to the serenity of the lodge in the afternoon.
Day 5: Flight to South Luangwa
In the morning you will be transferred to Livingstone Airport for a flight to Mfuwe Airport. Upon arrival you will be picked up and driven to your luxury camp which is located high on an escarpment overlooking the plain of South Luangwa National Park. You will freshen up and then take a game drive in the late afternoon highlighted by sundowners at a scenic spot before returning to the camp for dinner.
Days 6 & 7: Game Viewing in South Luangwa
You have two full days to enjoy your camp’s location in a remote part of the park which contains some of the most breathtaking and untouched wilderness in Africa. As a result of this and the park’s successful anti-poaching campaigns, the area has developed into a world-renowned wildlife haven. It is renowned for its walking safaris, which allows visitors to view elephant, hippo and even lion close-up under the supervision of professional and knowledgeable armed guides. This also gives you the chance to see more elusive animals such as leopards, the genet cats and honey badgers. You can also do the morning or evening game drive by open vehicle where you can view elephants, lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, hippos, wildebeests and antelopes.
Day 8: Transfer to the “Lake of Stars”
Today you will be transferred to Mfuwe airport to catch a flight to Lilongwe Airport in the charming country of Malawi. Upon arrival you will be met and taken to your luxury resort on the shores of Lake Malawi.
Days 9 & 10: The Surreal World of Lake Malawi
Your elegant resort is located on the southern shore of Lake Malawi on the west side of Nankumba Peninsula. At the tip of the peninsula is the resort town of Cape Maclear which features an array of beachside bars and local restaurants in a spectacularly scenic setting of golden sand beaches by dazzling turquoise water but the water is fresh not salty. From here you can kayak over to the nearby Thumbi Island and spot the majestic fish eagle, sail across the lake and catch a picturesque African sunset, or scuba dive into the crystal-clear depths of the lake, which boasts some of the best freshwater diving in the world. Other popular activities include bird watching, windsurfing, hiking, swimming or shopping in the local craft markets as well as guided village walks. You have the best of both worlds. You can stay at your resort enjoying its all-inclusive features and private beach and combine it with some after dinner in camaraderie in the town.
Day 11: Return to USA
You will be transferred to Lilongwe Airport where you begin your journey back to the United States.
