Day 1: Depart USA
Today your depart on a family adventure to South Africa combining wildlife, nature and some beach time.
Day 2: Welcome to Cape Town
Upon arrival in Cape Town you will be met and taken to your hotel which first opened its doors in 1899 but complete with all modern amenities. Sitting at the foot of Table Mountain it offers a variety of activities within its grounds and the city is minutes away.
Day 3: Table Mountain and City Tour
After a lavish buffet breakfast you will meet your guide for a tour of the city highlights. Your tour will start with a cable car ascent to the top of Table Mountain which offers 260 degree views of the city, the water and the mountains around the city. You will descend and then visit Signal Hill, the colorful Cape Malay Quarter, past the Grand Parade, City Hall, the Castle of Good Hope and the South African History Museum. In the evening you may want to visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront area with shops, restaurants and other attractions.

Day 4: Cape Point and the Flying Dutchman
Cape Point is a spectacular sight, covered in endemic fynbos and home to breathtaking bays, beaches and rolling green hills and valleys. Highlights of your day will be one of the world’s most spectacular drives, Hout Bay, chapman’s Peak, Noordhoek Beach, Cape point Nature Reserve Boulders Penguin Colony (a favorite with younger travelers), Simonstown and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Another highlight will be the funicular up to the Cape Point lighthouse with outstanding views of the ocean. The funicular is named for the ghost ship destined to sail the oceans forever.

Day 5: A Scenic Drive to the Whale Coast
After breakfast your driver will be waiting to take you to your next destination located on the Whale Coast. This rugged stretch of South African coastline hugs the Atlantic Ocean with mountains rising up on the other side. The spectacular scenery is enhanced by charming seaside villages, farms, rivers, coves and valleys. During June through December, whales can be seen cruising and wallowing in the coastal waters. You arrive at your resort, check in to your freestanding luxury suite and enjoy a light lunch. You might take a walk in the Milkwood or relax by the pool before dinner.

Days 6 & 7: Exploring Grootbos Private Reserve
There are a wide variety of activities to enjoy and included in your stay. They include horse riding, Guided walks, Nature Marine and Coastal drives, De Kelders cliff walk, land-based whale watching (seasonal). Enough activities, in fact to keep all age groups occupied. If you choose you can pursue optional programs like horse riding on the beach, Shark cage Diving, Whale watching boat trips (seasonal), quad biking, Spa Treatments and Kayaking.

Day 8: Route 62 to Sanbona
Today you will be heading to a game reserve to go on safari. You will drive Route 62 which is the longest wine route in the world through a series of small towns, fertile valleys and breathtaking scenery. You arrive at Sanbona Wildlife reserve where you will be staying at Gondwana Lodge which is focused on families. Have lunch and in the late afternoon head out on an evening game drive before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Day 9: A Day on Safari
As with other African safaris you will have two game drives, one in the morning and one in the late afternoon. In addition to avoiding the midday heat it is also the best time to see the animals. Yu are likely to see elephants, Rhinos, Lions, giraffes and other game common to the African Plain. In the middle of the day you can relax by the pool or participate in one of the nature talks led by one of the trained guides.

Day 10: Oudtshoorn and its Ostriches
You will depart Sanbona and continue along Route 62 to Oudtshoorn, “the ostrich capital of the world”. You will visit a show farm to see how ostriches are reared including a breeding camp where you can test the strength of Ostrich eggs by standing on them. After your visit you continue to a quaint country hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 11: Maputaland Marine Protected Area
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport in the town of George for a flight to Durban where you are met and taken to your resort which is situated in the Maputaland Marine Protected Area which comprises Lake Sibaya Nature Reserve, Kosi Bay Nature Reserve and Rocktail Bay. Take advantage of the location to swim in the warm ocean waters and enjoy the pristine beach.

Days 12-13: Days of Leisure
Take advantage of two whole days to do as much or as little as you want. Go snorkeling or just lie on the beach, have a family kay race or visit the nearby Mabibi Community, take a guided walk or enjoy sundowners as you watch the sun set over Lake Sibaya.

Day 14: Return to USA
After breakfast you will be transferred ro Durban airport to begin your journey back home.
