Day 1: Depart USA
You board your aircraft for the journey to Cape Town.
Day 2: Arrival in Cape Town
Upon arrival in Cape Town you will be met by one of our drivers and taken to your hotel which, like the city of Cape Town itself, is situated on the shore with Table Mountain serving as the back drop. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3: Cape Point and Kirstenbosch Gardens
Cape Point is a spectacular sight, covered in endemic fynbos and home to breathtaking bays, beaches and rolling green hills and valleys. Highlights of your day will be one of the world’s most spectacular drives, Hout Bay, chapman’s Peak, Noordhoek Beach, Cape point Nature Reserve Boulders Penguin Colony, Simonstown and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Another highlight will be the funicular up to the Cape Point lighthouse with outstanding views of the ocean. The funicular is named for the ghost ship destined to sail the oceans forever. In the evening you may want to visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront area with shops, restaurants and other attractions.

Day 4: A Day in the Winelands
Today you will take a trip outside the city. Resting at the foot of the Boland Mountains is the area known as the ape winelands renowned for producing some of the world’s finest wines. These wines were favored by past luminaries as Napoléon and Charles Dickens. You will visit a variety of towns and vineyards and sample their vintages. You will also have lunch in a vineyard as part of the experience before returning to Cape Town.

Day 5: A Scenic Drive to the Cederberg Mountains
In the morning you will meet your driver for the drive to your resort which is a member of Relais & Chateaux and the recipient of many awards including “Best Hotel in the World”. You will drive though farming country enhanced by roadside stands offering fresh fruit and vegetables. The Cederberg is wild, rugged, dramatic and above all, breathtakingly beautiful. The region’s valleys are lined with citrus orchards and surrounded by magnificent mountains that become even more spectacular at sunset when they are bathed in an array of vivid colors. Arrive in time for lunch and relax in the afternoon by swimming in crystal clear rock pools or getting a treatment at the Spa. Dinner is offered at a variety of locations inside and outside.

Days 6 & 7: Experiencing Bushman’s Kloof
A haven of staggering beauty and timeless tranquility, Bushman’s Kloof consists of wide-open plains, majestic rock foundations and crystal-clear waterfalls which provide a natural playground for a unique wilderness experience. While here you can enjoy nature drives, guided rock art excursions, botanical walks, canoeing, archery, fly fishing, hiking, swimming and, in the evening, stargazing. All enhanced by delicious organic cuisine.

Day 8: Cederberg to Umhlanga Rocks
Your driver will be waiting to take you to the airport in Cape Town to fly to Durban. Upon arrival you will be driven to the resort town of Umhlanga Rocks which offers tropical weather and the perfect location for ocean enthusiasts. Your destination os one of South Africa’s best-loved hotels which first opened in 1947 and has since been totally refurbished to compliment the generous hospitality, attentive service and exceptional cuisine.

Day 9: Durban and some Beach Time
In the morning, you will be picked up for a tour of the highlights of Durban, a cosmopolitan city where east meets west. After the tour you return to the hotel for the chance to enjoy the pool or the beach activities.

Day 10: An Introduction to Zulu Culture
This part of Africa is dominated by the Zulu culture known for their prowess in battle especially when led by Shaka. You will have a chance to experience Zulu culture including the making of spears, hut building, pottery and weaving. You will also get the chance to experience some Zulu traditional dances before returning to your hotel.

Day 11: Departure from South Africa
After breakfast you will be transferred the airport to begin your return to the USA.

You arrive back in the USA.
