Days 1-2: USA-Africa
Today you board your aircraft for a connecting flight in Europe to begin your Luxury Safari in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana.
Day 3: Arrival in Zimbabwe
When you arrive at Victoria Falls airport you will be transferred to a flight that will take you to the airstrip at Hwange Main Camp where you will be met and transferred to Somalisa Camp where you can relax before dinner.
Days 4 & 5: Discovering the Wildlife Diversity of Hwange
You have two full days to enjoy the diversity of the park through a combination of game walks, game drives and even horseback safaris. Hwange is Zimbabwe’s biggest reserve, home to a profusion of wildlife including giraffe, lion, zebra and approximately 40,000 elephants. It provides sanctuary for all of the country’s endangered species, including a population of wild dogs thought to be among the most sizeable surviving groups on the continent. Terrain ranges from desert dunes and savannah lands to rocky outcrops and sparse forests.
Day 6: Zambia and Thorntree River Lodge
After a morning game drive you will be transferred to Victoria Falls airport for a flight to Thorntree River lodge. Victoria Falls is shared between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Upon arrival at the River Lodge you embark on a sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi River followed by dinner.
Day 7: Visiting Victoria Falls
There are a variety of programs available at the falls ranging from a leisurely walk to key viewing spots to a death-defying bungee jump. The lodge will assist in selecting the best for you.
Day 8: Botswana and the Linyanti Concession
This morning you will be transferred to Kasane Airport for a flight to Linyanti airstrip. You will be met and escorted to Linyanti Ebony your home for the next three nights. Linyanti concession covers 750 square miles of the Northern Kalahari, dominated by large areas of mopane woodlands. Its northern edge is bounded by the waters of the Linyanti River, complete with a string of lagoons and marshes which attracts game during the dry season.
Days 9 & 10 Game Viewing at Linyanti
You have two days to enjoy a variety of game viewing options including game drives in 4 X 4 vehicles, walking excursions with an armed professional guide, boating and fishing along water lagoons and seasonal Mokoro excursions. There are choices of two activities per day with time to relax in between. You can also take a scenic trip by helicopter at no additional charge (just ask us for details).
Day 11: Okavango and the Khwai Community
Today you will fly from Linyanti to Khwai Tented Camp. The Khwai area of the Okavango lies along the border of the Moremi Game Reserve. This is an unfenced boundary allowing wildlife to move freely between the woodlands in the wet season when water is plentiful and back to permanent rivers and lagoons in the dry season.
Days 12 & 13: Animals…after dark!
The camp offers guests several unique ways to experience Africa. Besides the daytime drive which an feature Africa’s big attractions like lion, cheetah,, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe, guests are able to explore nature after sunset with a night drive. This activity along with the guided walking safaris, is not usually permitted in the National Parks or Game Reserves, and allows you to get up close and personal with some of Africa’s nocturnal and more elusive animals like the leopard. The camp also provides the opportunity to explore the great stands of Leadwood and mopane woodlands as well as open grasslands on foot.
Day 14: Return to USA
You will be picked up and transferred from Khwai tented Camp to Maun airport to begin your return to the USA.
