​Day 1: Depart USA

This evening you depart the USA headed to Warsaw the capital and commercial centre of Poland.

Day 2: Arrive Warsaw

Upon arrival in Warsaw you are met by your driver and taken on an overview drive around the city which was completely rebuilt after the bombing of World War II. You arrive at your hotel located in old town. We will provide a list of recommended restaurants for your stay in both Warsaw and Krakow.

Day 3: Remembering the Warsaw Uprising

A private guide will take you to the part of the city where the Warsaw Ghetto was located and describe the uprising as World War II came to a close.

Day 4: Chopin, Poland’s Native Son

Your expert guide will take you on a tour of places associated with the life and music of Fredric Chopin. If you like we can secure seats for an evening concert featuring some of his works both well-known and lesser known.

Day 5: Warsaw to Krakow

In the morning your driver and guide will be waiting to take you on an illuminating drive to Krakow, the cultural centre of Poland filled with youthful vitality. Upon arrival you check in to your hotel.

Day 6: The Legacy of Oskar Schindler

After breakfast you will meet your guide who will take you to the Kazimierz District which was the old Jewish Quarter and the site of Schindler’s factory which you can still see. The area is now full of art galleries and boutiques but some areas remain untouched including Szeroka Street which was a prime location in the filming of the movie.

Day 7: A Day of Remembrance

Today you will be taken to outside the city to the infamous concentration camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau where 1.1 million people were killed, primarily Jews but also gypsies, homosexuals and some Russian prisoners. The famous railroad tracks have been retained leading into the camp. While disturbing, there are messages left behind that renew the spirit making it a worthwhile experience.

Day 8: Krakow to Prague

In the morning you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to the youthful city of Prague the capital and major population centre of the Czech Republic. Like Rome, Prague is built on seven hills along the banks of the River Vitava. The Czech Republic is made up of the provinces of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia and is known for both its culture and its beer. Upon arrival you are met by your driver who will take you to your hotel. In the evening enjoy dinner in Wenceslas Square a combination of Times Square and the Champs Elysee.s

Day 9: Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge

Your first stop today will be Prague Castle, symbol of the Czech nation and offering wonderful views of the city. Below the castle is Mala Strana or ‘”lesser town” which, despite its name has splendid buildings, Baroque palaces and gardens. It is also home to many Embassies. As part of your morning tour you will see the famous Charles Bridge, 600 years old and made up of Gothic Towers and Baroque statues.

Day 10: Old Town and the Astronomical Clock

After breakfast you meet you guide for a tour of old town. Life in this area revolves around the Old Town Square. Here you can find the old town hall with its astronomical clock, St. Nicolas Church, Tyn Church and the Charles University. Of special interest is the old Jewish town with its well-preserved Jewish cemetery, synagogues and museums. We will provide recommendations on some good places to return to for dinner or just drinks.

Day 11: Free Time and an Elegant Finale

We have left today open for you to explore Prague on your own. In the evening you will be transferred to riverside where you board a boat for an elegant dinner cruise offering good food and a plethora of illuminated sights.

Day 12: Return to USA

After breakfast you are transferred to the airport for the flight back to the USA.
