Day 1: Depart USA
You board your aircraft for the overnight flight to Frankfurt, a major commercial city but also the gateway to many scenic areas in Germany.
Day 2: Welcome to Germany
You arrive in Frankfurt and meet your guide who will be taking you to the Romantic City of Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest seat of learning. You check into your hotel which is over 500 years old and has hosted such notables as Mark Twain and Count von Bismarck. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3: A Day in Heidelberg
After breakfast, you have your chance to explore the charming town of Heidelberg made famous in the operetta “The Student Prince”. Your inn has swords and beer tankards on display as testament to those dueling days gone by. Take a guided walk along the Neckar River and take a cable car to the castle that overlooks the town and the surrounding countryside.

Day 4: Baden-Baden and the Black Forest
This morning you will head to Baden-Baden where royalty have been coming to “take the waters” since Roman times. Nowadays the casino is also an attraction. After a tour of the town you head into the Black Forest where craftsmen in fairy tale villagers still carve cuckoo clocks. You then proceed to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 5: Baden-Wurttemberg to Kaiserstuhl
Today you enjoy a leisurely guide through southwest Germany. For part of the journey, the Rhine will be on your right with France on the opposite bank and you will be headed to Switzerland. This is one of Germany’s best wine growing regions sharing its bounty with the Alsace Wine Route on the French side. In the afternoon you arrive at your destination combining a working vineyard with a luxury hotel. Take a walk through the village before dinner.

Day 6: Absorbing the Winemaker’s Art
Take the opportunity to meet the people who create the great wine produced at the estate. You walk the vines with the knowledgeable individuals who nurture the grapes until maturity. At the same time you enjoy the spectacular views of the terraced vines stretching to the horizon. A simple but elegant lunch of wurst, cheese and bread enhances the wines you sample and serve as a precursor to the cellar, stretching over 300 feet into the mountain where wooden casks allow the wines to reach their full potential.

Day 7: The Charms of Strasbourg
Cross the Rhine and the border into France and the charming city of Strasbourg, part -German, part-French. Take a tour of the city before selecting from a wide selection of restaurants offering French cuisine with a German Twist. Choucroute Garnie anyone?

Day 8: The Alsace Wine Route
Today your guide will be waiting to take you on a leisurely tour of the Alsace Wine route that meanders for 100 miles through picturesque vineyards, and fairy tale villages of cobbled streets, timber-framed houses and medieval church towers. As you drive along you will stop at various wineries, sampling their wines. Tonight, enjoy dinner at your hotel to cap off a memorable day.

Day 9: A Cruise to Cologne
You will cross back into Germany to board a river steamer for a scenic cruise to the ancient town of Cologne. You are transferred to your hotel which is situated in the shadow of the town’s famous cathedral.

In the morning you will be transferred to Frankfurt airport for the flight back to the USA where you arrive back the same afternoon
