Day 1: Depart USA
You board your aircraft for the Trans-Pacific flight to New Zealand and the beginning of your family holiday in New Zealand.
Day 2: En route
Since you cross the International Date Line, you technically lose a complete day but it will be returned as you head home.
Day 3: Welcome to Auckland
You will arrive in New Zealand very early in the morning and you will be met by one of our drivers and taken to your hotel where breakfast will be waiting for you and early access to your room for a refreshing nap. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Sky Tower where you take a high speed elevator to the top. Imagine you are walking along a narrow walkway around the outside, high above Auckland. There are no handrails, nothing but thin air and the city 588 feet below. You’ve got a spectacular 360 degree panoramic view of Auckland, its hills, the harbour and the islands beyond. If you look down you have a perfect bird’s eye view of the city far below. After you have made a complete 360 degree journey you have an option of taking a Skyjump, not for the faint of heart.

Day 4: Adventures on Waiheke Island
In the morning you make your way to the pier where your racing yacht and crew are waiting. As you make your way to Waiheke Island you listen to the crew regarding Auckland, the Hauraki Gulf and more. If you want you can help trim the sails and steer the helm. Once you dock at the island, you ae met and taken for lunch. After lunch you are taken to the beach where you embark on a state of the art flying fox/zip lines experience combined with an eco–immersion forest walk. After your adventure you board your private helicopter for a short transfer back to downtown Auckland.

Day 5: A Visit with the Hobbits
In the morning, you check out of the hotel as your guide meets you for the drive to Rotorua with an intermediate stop in Matamata which is the location of the Hobbiton movie Set that featured in the (New Zealander) Peter Jackson directed The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit Movies. You guide will escort you through the ten acre set recounting fascinating details of how the Hobbiton set was created. After your visit you drive to Rotorua and your elegant but rustic lodge nestled amidst magnificent native forests and valleys. After checking in enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Day 6: Adventures in Rotorua
After breakfast, meet your guide for the day and travel a few minutes to Whakarewarewa Redwood Forest for some mountain biking. Choose from over 80 miles of purpose built tracks tailored to all skill levels for a 1-2 hour ride through forestry back roads, single track and fun jump trails surrounded by native and pine forests. Following your ride you travel to Okere falls for your next adventure, Grade 5+ Waterfall Rafting on the Kaituna River. After selecting equipment and getting a safety briefing you paddle for 45 minutes over 3 falls from 3 feet, 9 feet and 21 feet high, the last being the tallest commercially rafted waterfall in the world. You have lunch before your final experience, Lake Kayaking to Thermal Hot Pools. You paddle for approximately 40 minutes through scenic bays and out across Lake Rotoiti to lake edge Thermal Hot Pools that are only accessible by boat. Relax and enjoying a soothing soak or a cold plunge in the lake before returning to Rotorua.

Day 7: Rotorua to Wellington
You have the morning and early afternoon to enjoy the lodge facilities including 2,500 acres of secluded native forest, seven trout streams, four lakes over 40 miles of hiking trails, mountain bike riding and horse riding. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Wellington where you are met and taken to your hotel overlooking the Queen’s Wharf and the Harbour.

Day 8: Quad Bike and Beach Fishing Adventure
Transfer to the beach where you get instruction in handling the quad bikes. You put on your protective clothing and then follow your guide for a ride on the black sand beach of Palliser Bay. You then transfer to the beach for a beach fishing experience with lunch and beer provided. You are then transferred back to the city.

Day 9: Wellington to Queenstown
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Queenstown. Upon arrival you are taken to your hotel to drop off your luggage and then taken to the Skyline Gondola which will take you up to Bob’s Peak where you can have lunch with spectacular views. After lunch you take a ride or two on the luge before heading back down to the city for an orientation tour before being taken back to your hotel.

Day 10: Milford Sound Expedition
In the morning you are transferred to the heliport where you board your helicopter. You will be traveling with your expert pilot deep into Fiordland and Milford Sound. Visit seldom explored coves and beaches throughout the fiords. An immersion in a primeval world, a paradise for photographers, Fiordland is an area of spectacular beauty. Native forest, glacial-hewn valleys, towering mountains and majestic and primeval scenery have afforded this area World Heritage Status. You can choose where you want to picnic and you have the option of hiking if you feel like it. In the afternoon, the pilot will bring you back to Queenstown.

Day 11: Mountain Bike and Shotover White Water Rafting
Today your specialist guide will take you to historic Arrowtown where you mount your bikes to cycle down the beautiful banks of the Arrow River. Crossing numerous swing bridges you will ride to the Kawarau bungy bridge, where a vehicle will meet you with chilled water. After lunch, head to the rafting base on the Shotover River for the afternoon adventure. Meet your river guide before beginning your white water rafting journey through spectacular Skippers Canyon. Rafting from Deep Creek over peaceful waters at first, you’ll head towards the exhilarating rapids of the lower canyon. Raft the 500 foot Oxenbridge Tunnel before shooting Cascade Rapid to complete your adventure and return to your hotel with incredible memories.

Day 12: Ultimate Fly Fishing Expedition
After breakfast you are transferred to the heliport where your helicopters and guides are waiting to explore the remote streams of the lower south island. When your guides recommend another spot, cast off in your helicopter and fly there. This is the ultimate way to access New Zealand’s best fly fishing waters and fish where the trout are striking.

At the appropriate time you will be transferred to the airport to begin your journey back to the USA arriving back the same afternoon.
